Privacy policy
Your birth data is the most personal thing you give us. So this policy states your rights first, and our needs second.
Who we are
Jyotina is a product of Zordant (sole proprietorship), Bhargava House, Nai Basti, Katni, Madhya Pradesh, India, which operates it and is the data fiduciary for everything described here. For anything in this policy, write to hello@jyotina.com — it is a monitored inbox, read by a person.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask for any of the following, by email, from your registered address:
- Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — your name, email, and saved birth details can be edited in the product; anything else, ask us.
- Erasure — deletion of your account and its data; done within 30 days, backups included.
- Grievance — a named contact with a written response time, on the grievance page.
- Withdrawing consent — stop using the service at any time and ask for erasure.
What we collect
- Birth data — date, time, place, for you and anyone whose chart you build. This is required for the calculation.
- Account data — name and email.
- Conversations — your questions and the answers, stored so your chats can be reopened.
- Payment data — transaction id, amount, status, date. Card and UPI details stay with the gateway, not with us.
- Technical data — IP address, device type, error logs. Only to keep the site working and abuse out.
Why we collect it
Birth data builds the kundli — without it the service does not work. Account data keeps your charts yours. Technical data lets us catch crashes, errors, and abuse.
We do not use your data for profiling, ad targeting, or any kind of sale.
Who processes it
Only the parties needed to run the service:
- Payment gateways (currently Razorpay) — only what a transaction requires.
- AI providers — the chart data and question are sent to our AI provider to generate the answer. They receive what the answer needs, never your login or payment details.
- Google services — place search and location lookups send the place text or coordinates to Google.
- Cloud hosting and the email provider that delivers receipts and codes.
- The law — only on a valid legal order. When that happens we tell you, unless the law forbids it.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. On erasure, charts, conversations and birth data go within 30 days; transaction records are kept only as long as tax law requires.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS everywhere), sessions are httpOnly cookies, and access to production systems is limited to the people who run them.
If a breach affects your personal data, we notify you and the authorities as the DPDP Act requires.
Children
We do not knowingly collect data from users under 18. A parent may build a child's kundli — control of that data stays in the parent's account.
